"Like the First Day of School." Sofia Vergara Spills On Her First Day At 'America's Got Talent'

Updated: Mar 20, 2020

Sophia Vergara arrives on the Red Carpet for her 2nd day of filming for 'America's Got Talent'

With a cheering crowd behind her on her second day of filming, Sofia Vergara revealed her nerves on her first day on set of season 15 of the NBC hit show 'America's Got Talent'

"It was like the first day of school," Sofia Vergara told The Buzz's Rae Williams on the Red Carpet. "You have to learn where your locker is, where everything is, you meet new friends. It was a little stressful, but today I feel like I'm in my environment" Vergara said.

NBC announced Vergara as it's newest judge at the end of February, joining veterans Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and returning member Heidi Klum. Terry Crews completes the power squad as the show's host. 'AGT' faced controversy last year after Gabrielle Union's firing and allegations of a toxic, racist culture. Drama aside, fans screamed for each judge as they stepped out of black vehicles and walked the red carpet, with Vergara and Crews garnering the loudest cheers.

When asked if she and her fellow female judge Heidi Klum would team up against the guys, Vergara said "I think she's a very strong girl and I am too, and we don't even have to think about it. It's just going to happen. She's so gorgeous and she's so witty - I love her!" Vergara gushed.

Heidi Klum returned the glowing sentiments about her new co-star. "She's such a trooper," Klum said, adding that she advised Vergara not to be nervous as she went into filming. She also echoed Vergara's playful mischief towards the two male judges. "We're going to prank them or do something crazy, yes. They deserve it," Klum said.

Simon Cowell revealed he checked in on Vergara. "We got half way through the first day and I said to her "How are you feeling?" and she said, "this is a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be,"" Cowell said. "It's daunting when you're sitting there. You've literally got somebody's life in your hands at that moment. You've got to make the right decision."
